Reflections of Europe
Once a small fishing village, Qingdao (formerly Tsingtao) became a
German enclave at the turn of the century. A deep-water harbour, cathedrals,
mansions, fir-lined avenues, even a castle that later housed royalty
and heads of state are enduring testimony to the city's European legacy.
Today, as the largest industrial city in Shandong province and one
of 14 coastal cities designated for special economic privileges, Qingdao
attracts travelers from all over the world. Many find the Huiquan
Dynasty Hotel ideally situated for both business and pleasure. |
